Get to Know Powerflow Instructor Robyn Jeffries

RobynJeffries_pic3Robyn Jeffries teaches Powerflow – a vigorous, core-based vinyasa flow class – on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6:30 pm) and on Saturday mornings (9:30 am).

On her website, RobynJeffriesYOGA.com, she writes: “Robyn enjoys being able to share a more vigorous, traditional style of Vinyasa yoga… [she] creates a non-judgmental environment, where the practitioner can focus, be challenged, let go and be present.”

Students in Robyn’s class will definitely sweat! Powerflow creates tapas (healing heat for the mind and body) and focuses on building core strength, improving alignment, and increasing flexibility.

Q&A with Robyn

Where are you from?
Los Angeles California

What three words best describe your personality?
Bubbly, helpful, and straightforward

What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
It’s so hard to choose I guess I will go with Urdva Dhanurasana. It’s a nice deep stretch for my spine and abdomen and because it gives me energy!

Describe your perfect day.
My perfect day would start out with a vigorous gym workout followed by a long yoga session on the beach in 80-degree, sunny, humid-free weather with someone to cook all of my organic, salt, and sugar-free meals.

Five items you would have if you were stranded on a desert island.
My dog, my best friend so I can spend the whole time laughing, a really good book, a raft or charged cell phone (so eventually I can get off the island – is that cheating?), and a blanket (I’m always cold!)

How many tattoos do you have?
Zero.

What’s your favorite book?
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

What’s your favorite movie?
TAP. The dancing is amazing, and it reminds me of my childhood.

What’s your favorite meal?
Grilled veggies in garlic and spicy sweet potatoes.

Favorite song lyrics?
“So make the best of this test and don’t ask why, it’s not a question but a lesson learned in time, it’s something unpredictable but in the end it’s right, I hope you had the time of your life.” – Green Day

What’s your favorite season?
Spring: it’s a chance to grow and begin anew.

What is your best memory?
Playing on the beach with my brother in California.

What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I have so many goals! One of goals is to help people live a happier life through diet, fitness and YOGA!
